Meghan Trainor and Chloe Grace Moretz: 'We're the Anti-Squad Squad'

Actress Chloe Grace Moretz has revealed that she and singer Meghan Trainor don't like to describe their friendship as a "squad" because they both experienced being left out of things while growing up and thinks it has a negative connotation.

Speaking to Billboard about how every celebrity friendship now gets referred to as a squad, Moretz explained that she doesn't want that applied to her own group of buddies and instead likes to think of them as the "Anti-Squad Squad":

"We don't agree with what the word 'squad' means. She and I, when we were growing up, we both dealt with being left out of a lot of situations and not being invited into people's friend groups. We just think that squad-specific exclusivity doesn't go along with what we believe in."

Trainor, who first met Moretz at KIIS FM's Jingle Ball in L.A. last year, added: "Other celebrity friends, they're not your best friends because you don't get to see them, and when you do, you're like, 'Oh, hi. Are you exhausted, too?' Chloe's just really real."
