Polaris Music Prize shortlist includes Grimes and Carly Rae Jepsen

The shortlist for this year's Polaris Music Prize has now been unveiled and it sees the likes of Grimes, Carly Rae Jepsen and White Lung still in the running for the prestigious award. 

Cut from the list are Justin Bieber's 'Purpose', The Weeknd's 'Beauty Behind The Madness', and Peaches' 'Rub'. However, this is the second time that 'Flesh Without Blood' musician Grimes has made the shortlist, which can be seen below in full. 

As previously reported, the winner of the prize will be announced at the Polaris Gala on September 19 and the final decision will be made by 11 individuals. The winner will receive $50,000 (Canadian dollars) and the nine short-listed artists will each get $3,000.
