Q-Tip not happy about A Tribe Called Quest documentary

Frontman of A Tribe Called Quest, Q-Tip, has revealed that he is not in support of a forthcoming documentary about his band.

The film, called ‘Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest’, has already been picked up for the Sundance Festival  and follows the band’s story and  their reunion for the 2008 Rock the Bells Tour.

However, despite most members actively participating in the film, frontman Q-Tip has blasted the documentary on his Twitter page, saying: "I am not in support of the a tribe called quest documentary.”

The clash appears to be brought about by creative differences with the filmmakers as Q-Tip revealed he felt: "The filmmaker shld respect the band enough to honour our request regarding the film.

 "The filmmaker should respect the band to the point of honoring the few requests that's was made abt the piece."

The film will be premiering at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival this January. You can watch the trailer below:
