Nathan Sykes has "never been happier as an artist"

Singer and musician Nathan Sykes has confessed that he is enjoying "every second" of being a solo artist because it's "less stressful" than being part of a group.

During a new interview with 92.3 amp, he explained that going solo has been incredibly liberating: "It’s everything and more. It’s happiness. It’s less stressful. It’s calm. It’s really enjoyable and I’m loving every second. I’ve never been happier as an artist.”

Speaking about his debut solo album, 'Unfinished Business', he added: "I wanted to make sure I was repositioning myself correctly as an artist and not using the band that I was in before to get success. I think one: that’s disrespectful to the band; two: disrespectful to the band’s fans."

His debut album is due to be officially released on November 4 and he recently opened up about the album's booklet, in which he made some apologies:

"I think the most important ones are to friends and family. My one to my friends is just an apology. It's like an anti-thank you. I'm not going to thank them for being there, so I apologised. I'm like, 'I'm sorry I never answer my phone, I'm sorry I never see you, I'm sorry you contact me and try and come to my gigs and I've got no tickets because I've just given them all away to my family, I'm sorry that I'm the worst person on the planet and when I get back to Gloucester I'm always sleeping!' It was all, like, apologies."
