Backstreet Boys are keen to work with Meghan Trainor.

The group's AJ McLean said the US star is an "amazing" music writer.

The two parties previously performed the band's hit track 'I Want It That Way' together on US TV's Greatest Hits.

McLean told Inquisitr: "She's such an amazing writer, so we're working it out and hopefully when her schedule permits, we can do it."

Backstreet Boys recently admitted defeat in their plans to tour with the Spice Girls.

The two 90s pop groups were heavily rumoured for months to be plotting a live run together, but it seems it won't be happening any time soon.
