Brad Paisley on hosting CMAs with Carrie Underwood: 'There's trust between us'

Country sensation Brad Paisley has opened up about hosting the upcoming CMAs, which will take place on November 2, with songstress Carrie Underwood and explained why they work so well together.

During an interview with Southern Living magazine, he said: "There's a lot of trust between us. That’s key when you're standing out there on that tightrope. More than that, what makes a great balance is she has such grace, and I don't.”

Underwood added: "Brad's good at thinking on his feet, so it always works out.”

Paisley also revealed that the country genre is enjoying a resurgence and confessed that the songwriting in country tracks helps to keep the genre accessible and relatable to a broad audience: "If you turn on country music it's always 'Friday,' everybody has a beer, and pretty painted toes are tappin' on the dashboard. But I think we're coming back, as far as songwriting goes."
