Britney Spears calls on fans to fundraise for Louisiana flood relief

Britney Spears is raising money for the Louisiana flood relief efforts.

The singer is working with American Red Cross and Crowd Rise to allow fans to donate $10 (£7.60) to enter a competition.

They will enter a prize draw to win the outfit Spears wears on stage at the MTV VMAs on August 28, or a flight to attend the show and meet her.

At least 13 people have died in the flooding, with more than 60,700 homes damaged and 102,000 people needing federal assistance.

Spears tweeted on Monday (August 22): "I’ve teamed up with @RedCross and @crowdrise to raise funds for the victims of the horrible flooding in my home state of Louisiana.

"Every $10 donation is a chance to win the outfit I wear at the MTV VMAs or a trip to meet me in NYC for the show!"

Last week Taylor Swift donated $1 million to the flood relief efforts.
