McFly star Dougie Poynter says the band will be working on new music while on the road.

The group are due to embark on their UK Anthology tour from September, but it seems their minds are looking ahead to the future.

Speaking to The Sun, Poynter said songwriting will be in full flow when the band are on tour.

He said: "There will be new McFly music.

"There's a few ideas floating around already, we'll hopefully be writing stuff on tour."

McFly's tour was due to kick off in June, but it was postponed after drummer Harry Judd suffered a neck injury.
