New documentary to mark anniversary of Lennon’s murder

This Wednesday (December 8) will be the 30th anniversary of John Lennon’s murder, and a new documentary is being released to mark the sombre occasion.

The film, entitled ‘The Day John Lennon Died’, follows the events of Lennon’s final day leading up to his murder by gunshot at the hand of Mark David Chapman.

Also included are exclusive interviews with Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono as well as rare, little-seen archive footage of the former Beatle interacting with his small family in their New York home.

The programme also features an interview with Lennon devotee Liam Gallagher of Oasis who visits the site of the last Beatles performance – the roof of the Apple offices in London’s Saville Row – and talks about the great influence Lennon has had on his life and music.

The documentary will be airing on Monday (December 6) at 10:35PM on ITV1.
