Nirvana on new conspiracy theory about Kurt Cobain

Nirvana have responded to a new conspiracy theory that claims Kurt Cobain may still be alive.

Speculation over the late musician, who died in 1994, emanated recently after video footage of a lookalike emerged online.

Clips of singer Ramiro Saavedra performing Nirvana tunes on Peru TV talent show Yo Soy dressed as Cobain raised some eyebrows.

While he sounds very similar to Cobain, the look isn't quite right and he plays guitar with his right hand, not his left.

The speculation prompted the official Nirvana Facebook to comment, tongue-in-cheek, to the conspiracy theory.

It said: "It is true, Kurt is alive. He needed time to learn to play the guitar with his right hand. Finding left-handed guitars is not easy.

"We are so happy to have him back and forgive him for all of the sadness that we have held so deeply in our hearts."
