Nick Gordon has been found "legally responsible" for the death of Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of the late Whitney Houston, after failing to attend a pair of wrongful death civil lawsuit hearings. 

The Associated Press reports that while Gordon isn't yet facing any criminal charges he has been found responsible for her passing, which happened back in 2015 after she spent six months in a medically induced coma. 

Brown estate lawyer R. David Ware issued a statement outside of court today (September 16) and said: "In court today, we finally finished a long journey for justice for Bobbi Kristina Brown. The court agrees with us, by striking Mr. Gordon's answer that he is legally responsible for her death. The only thing left to prove is the value of her life. We intend to do that."

He added: "It's not a criminal case but it doesn't have to be. We want to legally establish he was responsible for her injuries that proceeded her death and we’ve done that today."
