Green Day postpone four North America tour dates

Green Day have postponed and cancelled some North America tour dates due to illness.

The group's first four dates on their upcoming tour have been shelved due to an "infection" which has been affecting the band and crew.

They were due to play St. Louis on September 20, Chicago a day later and Detroit on September 24.

Also cancelled is a show at the World Cup of Hockey Fan Village in Toronto on September 23.

Green Day are due to kick off their tour in Ohio on September 26.

The band said: “We're so sad to announce we have to postpone three shows and cancel Toronto.

"Many of us have been battling this infection for days on end to be ready, and it just got the best of us.

The punk-rockers meanwhile will release their latest album 'Revolution Radio' on October 7.
