The Weeknd confirmed as musical guest for season premiere of 'Saturday Night Live'
"Can't Feel My Face" sensation The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, has been confirmed as the musical guest for the season premiere of America's 'Saturday Night Live'.
Australian actress Margot Robbie, who most recently starred in the film Suicide Squad, will host the episode on October 1 and The Weeknd is set to perform live on the night.
The Weeknd's highly anticipated second studio album, entitled Starboy, is scheduled to be officially released on November 25. This week, he unveiled the record's title track, which comes in the form of a collaboration with none other than Daft Punk.
Wendy Goldstein, Executive VP and head of urban A&R at Republic Records, recently told Billboard magazine that she was excited about the prospect of Daft Punk and The Weeknd working together:
"Well actually, we have a session coming up in two days with the Weeknd and Daft Punk, and I’ve always been a massive Daft Punk fan. This is the first time I’ve been involved with an artist who’s going to go and work with them."
