Passenger beating Springsteen and Shawn Mendes in UK albums chart race

Passenger is on course to land his first UK No.1 album this week.

The singer-songwriter is currently topping the country's midweek chart update with 'Young As The Morning Old As The Sea'.

However, there are only 1,100 units separating the top three.

At No.2 is Bruce Springsteen's new entry 'Chapter and Verse', while Shawn Mendes debuts at No.3 with 'Illuminate'.

Following at No.4 are prog-rockers Marillion with their latest effort 'FEAR'.

Completing the midweek top five are Bastille's 'Wild World', which falls from No.1.

Among the other new entries this week is Airbourne's 'Breakin' Outta Hell', which enters at No.6.

My Chemical Romance's anniversary boxset 'The Black Parade/Living with Ghosts' debuts at No.7, while Joe Bonamassa's 'Live At The Greek Theatre' is new at No.8.
