Pete Doherty to make film debut
Libertines star Pete Doherty is set to test his acting chops after landing the lead role in a new French film.
The singer has been venturing into non-musical waters of late – trying his hand at fashion by launching his own jewellery line this month – and has decided that his next foray be into film.
The Babyshambles singer will be making his big screen debut in the untitled project and will be starring alongside actress Charlotte Gainsbourg. The film will be based on the life of 19th century writer Alfred de Musset.
Speaking to The Sun, Doherty said: "We start shooting in Paris on December 27. The story centres around a love triangle so it's pretty intense and romantic. I don't know if I'm a good actor but they say I am."
