Adam Lambert: "I think honesty is the one thing that will make you grow"

Vocal powerhouse Adam Lambert recently sat down for an interview with Seven Days magazine and explained what it was about the judging role on The X Factor in Australia that appealed to him.

He confessed that the opportunity to coach and mentor aspiring singers was the main draw:

"The X Factor has got a special format where you get to mentor the contestants. I grew up doing a lot of theatre and I was in this theatre group as a kid. As I grew older and became more seasoned within the company, I became like a student director and started to direct things and coach the kids."

Adam Lambert went onto add that his personal judging style will be compassionate, fair and very honest because that is the most useful way to help someone who wants to be successful:

"I always try to be sensitive and aware of what their experience might be, but I've also vowed to be very honest and direct. I'll try to do it in a constructive way. I'm not mean. I think in the long run, if you're a performer and you're really serious about it and want this as your career, I think honesty is the one thing that will make you grow."
