Justin Timberlake didn't know what Eurovision was before agreeing to perform

Hitmaker Justin Timberlake has confessed that he had no idea what the Eurovision Song Contest was before agreeing to perform at the event.

He made the claims during an interview with chat show host Graham Norton and admitted that he was a little perplexed when people would ask him in an incredulous manner why he had signed up to perform at Eurovision, which took place in Sweden on May 14 this year:

"I did (know what it was), but not before I said yes to it. Then, when I told people I was doing it they would respond with, 'Oh, why are you doing that show?'"

Despite the annual event's somewhat mixed reputation, he added that it was actually a really enjoyable experience: "It was a lot of fun."
