James Corden has defended Kim Kardashian in the face of internet bullies after the TV star was burgled at gunpoint in Paris.

Jewellery worth several millions of euros was taken from her luxury residence in Paris in the early hours of the morning.

Despite her ordeal, some internet trolls have made fun of the situation on Twitter - with some even lamenting that she wasn't killed.

US TV host Corden leapt to the defence of Kardashian, writing:

"People making jokes about @KimKardashian tonight would do well to remember that she's a mother, a daughter, a wife, a friend.

"Be nice or shut up."

Kardashian's husband Kanye West meanwhile cancelled a concert in New York mid-show after learning about the burglary.
