Bieber, Perry, Minaj in Google Zeitgeist

Every year, Google publishes its Zeitgeist, naming the list of the year’s most searched words and people and this year, many a pop star have dominated.

Along with reality star Kim Kardashian, 16-year-old Justin Bieber was a top search in the UK and also made the list for the UK’s fastest-rising search terms for 2010. Also making this list were rising rapper Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry and Ellie Goulding.

Cheryl Cole was top in gossip as high profile divorces carved a niche of their own – including Tiger Woods and Eva Longoria’s marital trouble’s along with Cole’s.

The list also revealed that 35 million people - 87% of the world's online population - used Google in October.
