Tom Petty has been chosen as 2017's MusiCares Person Of The Year and he will be honoured at the ceremony next year. 

The event is scheduled to take place on February 10 and proceeds from ticket sales will go towards the MusiCares Foundation. Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers will close the night with a live performance and "All My Life" rockers Foo Fighters will also take the stage at the ceremony, which will mark their first performance since announcing their hiatus back in November 2015. 

Previous winners of the MusiCares Person Of The Year title include Phil Collins, Sir Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin, Bono and Bruce Springsteen.
