Madonna and Lady Gaga perform for Hillary Clinton

Both Madonna and Lady Gaga performed in support of Hillary Clinton on Monday (November 7).

The two singers took to the stage at separate events to back the Democrat in the final hours of the US presidential campaign.

Madonna performed a surprise set at New York's Washington Square. She said the show was about "unifying us - it’s about keeping America great, not making America great".

Gaga meanwhile joined Clinton in Raleigh, North Carolina before performing. She also ran through 'Livin' On A Prayer' with fellow guest Jon Bon Jovi. Speaking about Clinton, the 'Joanne' star said at the event: "I can promise you that she will protect us not just from the outside but on the inside as well."

General voting opens for Americans on Tuesday (November 8) as Clinton vies against Republican hopeful Donald Trump in the race for the White House.
