Christine and the Queens: 'A debut album is an introduction, then you need a second verse'

A new album is on the horizon for Christine and the Queens

Héloïse Letissier told DIY magazine recently that she is incredibly proud of her debut record, but is now ready to move on and create some new material:

"Chaleur Humaine was so beautiful to work on and seeing it blossom. But it is something I'm afraid to dwell on, because it is a debut album. It's like an introduction. 'Hello, it's me'. But then you need a second verse. I'm actually plotting the next album. Rubbing my hands together alone in my room, laughing creepily."

The "Tilted" hitmaker added that this has been a particularly great year for her, but she seems to write better song when she is in a bit of turmoil so she isn't dwelling on her successes: "All the great things that happened to me this year, I'm trying not to think about. I don't want to sit on it. I want to doubt and feel like s*** so I can write songs. I'm exaggerating, but you see what I mean."
