Adele was the big winner at this year's BBC Music Awards as she grabbed two awards on the night in honour of her latest material.

The singer won Album of the Year for '25' and Song of the Year for 'Hello' at the event in London on Monday (December 12). She was unable to attend and instead sent a video message, which said:

"I'm so sorry I'm not there. It's been a long year on the road and this makes me feel a little less homesick."

Robbie Williams accepted one of the awards on her behalf, with the 'Heavy Entertainment Show' man telling the audience: "It's an honour to accept this award on your behalf. It's an amazing album, and you're an incredibly deserving winner. You're also an amazing mum. The hardest working mum in showbusiness. Congratulations Adele."

Coldplay won the Artist of the Year honour, while The 1975 picked up the Radio 1 Live Lounge Performance of the Year prize for their cover of One Direction's 'What Makes You Beautiful'. Izzy Bizzu meanwhile collected the BBC Introducing award.
