Coldplay's drummer feared blindness during Glastonbury set

Coldplay's drummer Will Champion has revealed that he couldn't enjoy the band's performance at Glastonbury to the fullest because he feared he had made himself blind towards the end of the set.

He told Q magazine that he struck his eyeball with a drumstick as they were finishing up the amazing performance and subsequently couldn't see out of his eye, which was incredibly worrying:

"I hit myself in the eyeball with a drumstick on the penultimate song. I couldn't see out of my left eye, so I was a little bit worried. Afterwards, everyone else was high-fiving and saying, 'It was amazing' and I was sort of cowering, thinking, 'I've blinded myself...'"

Champion went onto add: "During the song we did with Michael Eavis, I had to have my eyes closed for the whole thing cos my eye was bleeding. It was a little bit of a comedown."
