Official Albums Chart: Little Mix reclaim top spot with 'Glory Days'

Little Mix’s Glory Days has reclaimed pole position on the final Official Albums Chart of 2016.

The group’s fourth studio collection returns to Number 1 today (December 30) for a third non-consecutive week. The album, Little Mix’s first chart-topping album, hasn’t left the Top 5 since its release in November.

Glory Days, which includes the chart-topping single Shout Out To My Ex, last month became the fastest-selling album by a British girl group since The Spice Girls’ Spiceworld (1997). Glory Days is also the first girl group album to log more than one week at Number 1 in the UK since Destiny’s Child’s Survivor, which notched up four non-consecutive stints at the top across 2001/2002.

Finally, several albums return to the Top 40 on this week’s Official Albums Chart: Twenty One Pilots’ Blurryface leaps 21 spots to Number 28, Drake’s Views jumps 20 places to 31, UB40’s Unplugged ft. Ali, Atstro & Mickey is up 13 to 32, and Lady Gaga’s Joanne rebounds 13 to Number 33,

Katie Melua’s latest collection In Winter leaps eight spots to 34, Charlie Puth’s Nine Track Mind climbs five to 38, and Catfish & The Bottlemen’s The Ride is back up 20 spots to 39.
