Ed Sheeran appears to have given fans a taste of new lyrics courtesy of a mysterious Instagram video uploaded on Tuesday (January 3).

The singer-songwriter, who is due to release new music on Friday (January 6), wrote the line "when I was six years old I broke my leg...". It seems fans are desperate to hear the new material, with one Instagram user writing that his posts are "honestly torture".

Sheeran previously hinted via a teaser video on Instagram that his highly anticipated next record could be called 'Divide'. It looks as if the Brit is continuing his mathematical theme, with his 2011 debut called '+' and his 2014 follow-up going by the name of 'x'.
