Ed Sheeran: 'I've a folder on my laptop of unreleased songs'

Ed Sheeran says he has a folder on his laptop containing unreleased songs which he dips into when giving tracks to other artists.

The singer-songwriter told Capital FM that he has a "song jail" of tunes that he doesn't use himself, but has reserved for other musicians. Sheeran said:

"Sometimes I'll go in and I'll be like 'I'm going to write specifically for that person', and sometimes I'll finish a song and it goes into this little thing on my laptop called 'song jail', which is not going on any of my albums.

"It stays in song jail for a while. Then someone will come to and be like 'have you got any songs?' and I'll have a look in the song jail and release one of the inmates."

Sheeran added that he recently worked with Zara Larsson and Anne-Marie on music for the two artists, revealing that the duo "nailed" their sessions.
