Gwen Stefani and Pharrell sued for copyright infringement

It has been revealed that Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams are being sued for copyright infringement over their 2014 song 'Spark The Fire'.

Pitchfork has reported that musician Richard Morrill has filed a lawsuit against the pair over claims that the chorus of the song bears incredible likeness both muically and lyrically to his 1996 track 'Who's Got My Lightah'. Morrill is also suing the Harajuku Lovers company along with Interscope Records.

He is suing for “all gains and profits that they have enjoyed” at his expense, and is also seeking coverage for his lawyers fees, and he wants acknowledgement that the copyright of the track was compromised.

Gwen Stefani also has a song named 'Start The Fire', which featured on the No Doubt album 'Rock Steady' back in 2001. Her pronounciation and rhyming of lighter and fire are similar in this instance, too.
