Camila Cabello lands her first-ever solo cover and interview

Camila Cabello has landed her first-ever solo cover and given an interview for the new March/April issue of Seventeen magazine, which will hit newsstands on February 21.

In a new interview with the 19-year-old singer, Cabello enlightens fans about what they can expect from her post-Fifth Harmony career.

Despite her departure from the band a few months ago, the star also dispels of any bad feeling with her ex-bandmates, saying:

"I'll continue to wish them all the best, and I'm happy they are continuing their journey as Fifth Harmony. I'm also looking forward to hearing new music from the group and their solo endeavors."

Reflecting on her new solo career, she said: "Fifth Harmony wasn't the maximum expression of me individually. My fans are really going to know me from the music I'm writing. My goal is to be brave and open up my soul."

She also reveals that despite trying to stay offline “for almost two years now,” she was overwhelmed by the support from fans after leaving fifth Harmony. “(I) did see a lot of love and support from my fans. Honestly, I didn’t expect it. I was so emotional at that point, that when I saw some really encouraging things people were saying, I burst into an ugly cry.”

The singer also explained how she's slightly weary about sharing too much of her life on social media. In an interview for Lena Dunham's Women of the Hour, Cabello spoke about being too sensitive for social media, saying, "Even if you read 100 messages of love, the hurtful one is what you remember."

On the subject of love, we recently reported that Cabello is still close to buddy Taylor Swift, who shares her sensitivity and emotional approach when it comes to love. We love love, and we love writing songs about love," said said.

She also admitted that she hopes one day to collaborate with British singer-songwriter, Ed Sheeran.

"He's incredible at putting love, emotion, and feeling into words. I would love to see him go into a room and watch how he makes his magic. He always talks about how he loves making songs from the heart, and that's something that I've pushed myself to do in my songwriting process, too," she said.
