Alicia Keys, Peter Gabriel speak out for Sudan

R&B singer Alicia Keys and rocker Peter Gabriel are among several celebrities who have signed up to campaign for a global peace initiative.

The pop stars are joined by Hollywood actor George Clooney, Virgin boss Richard Branson, ex-United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan and former US president Jimmy Carter in raising awareness about the increasing threat of war in Sudan.

Keys and Clooney both make an appearance in a new music video, entitled ‘We Want Peace’, by Sudanese rapper and activist Emmanuel Jal.

Jal, a former child soldier, spoke to MTV.com about the initiative, saying: "The issue has been there for a while, but we're trying to gather support to raise awareness... If people know, they will do something."
