Matt Cardle is tonight (January 2) celebrating his third consecutive week at number 1. 

The X Factor winner's single, 'When We Collide', managed to hold off competition from Rihanna ft. Drake's 'What's My Name', which has sat comfortably in the number 2 position for the same amount of time now. 

Rihanna famously duetted with Cardle on the final of ITV's popular talent show and their alliance has made for an interesting chart battle over the past 3 weeks but she's so far been unable to beat him to the top spot.
