Leighton Meester says 'Country Strong' changed her music

Leighton Meester, star of Gossip Girl, spoke about her role in the forthcoming movie 'Country Strong' and how it's changed her approach to her music career.

The young actress co-hosted last night's (January 5) People's Choice Awards and explained to Boot magazine that:

"Because of this movie, I started doing that for myself and writing music that speaks to me and is from my heart and, apparently, I'm really depressed,"

"I just wrote a song at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The guitar has been a nice tool for me to be able to write. I want to release the music, but I'm not pressured to do it at the moment."

Sony recently announced that she will also present an award at 2011's prestigious Golden Globe Awards alongside heart throb Robert Pattinson and Matt Damon.
