James Corden to host the 2011 BRIT awards

The 2011 BRIT Awards will be hosted by actor and personality James Corden. 

The event, which is due to take place on February 15 at London's O2 Arena, is set to be huge with performances from Tinie Tempah and Ellie Goulding, boy band The Wanted and the Critics' Choice Award winner and vocal powerhouse Jessie J. 

In addition to the news about Corden's hosting, it has also been revealed that Vivienne Westwood has designed the new Brit award statue. An official statement from the BRIT awards said:

"Vivienne stands for all the things we want to inspire in tomorrow’s generation of artists. She continues to be unique, innovative not to mention massively inspired by music and vice versa. We are honoured she accepted our offer of designing 2011’s trophy.’
