Bruno Mars' debut album scores a number 1

Singer-songwriter Bruno Mars has managed to hold onto his midweek number 1 album position until the official chart confirmation today (January 23) with his debut record, 'Doo Wops and Hooligans'.

The 'Billionaire' star has knocked Rihanna's 'Loud' from the top spot to celebrate his first album's success. 'Doo Wops and Hooligans' is Mars' first studio album and contains his two number 1 singles, 'Just The Way You Are' and 'Grenade'.

White Lies' album, 'Ritual', has entered the UK albums chart at number 3 whilst Plan B's 'The Defamation of Strickland Banks' moved down 2 places to number 4 and Ellie Goulding's 'Lights' shot up two places to complete the top 5.
