After the ever-increasing rumours over the past weeks, Jay-Z has officially confirmed that he is to co-produce a remake of the classic movie and Broadway musical, 'Annie', with Willow Smith starring in the lead role. 

The 'Whip My Hair' singer is already signed to Jay-Z's label, Roc Nation, so she has been firmly on his radar for some time now. 

In a statement, Jay-Z said of the project:

"is a perfect next step with teams that are accomplished, creative and innovative."

"We're developing a true superstar in Willow."

The 10-year old star is catching up with her older brother Jaden Smith who recently starred in the hit remake of 'Karate Kid'.
