Mumford & Sons score 1m sales in UK and U.S

Mumford & Sons are still basking in the glory of their recent BRITs win and Grammys performance, and have now become the first British band since '09 to sell over 1 million copies of the same album in both the UK and U.S.

Music Week reports that sales of their record 'Sigh No More' increased in the States by a gigantic 99% after the live performance at the Grammys, and shot up by an even more impressive 266% in the UK following their appearance at the BRITs.

The last UK band to achieve this feat was Coldplay with their 2008 album 'Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends'. Mumford & Sons have just started their intimate tour of Scotland and Ireland, and will play in Stornoway this evening (March 7).
