Broadway's 'American Idiot' to close

The Broadway musical 'American Idiot', inspired by the Green Day album of the same name, is set to close in April producers have confirmed. 

According to Billboard.com, ticket sales for the show plummeted after Green Day's very own Billy Joe Armstrong left the production:

"Box office sales went from $1.3 million to $395,275 in the first week after he left."

In an effort to get the numbers back up, Armstrong will return to play his role of St. Jimmy in the show's final weeks. It will close on April 24 and will then depart on a national tour of the U.S. Watch the cast perform Green Day's classic track 'Good Riddance' here:
