David Lynch to direct Duran Duran gig

David Lynch is set to direct a live Duran Duran gig, which will be broadcast live from L.A's Mayan Theatre on March 23.

The concert is part of the 'Unstaged' series, which was set up by American Express, and Lynch explained his excitement at being involved in the creative direction:

"The idea is to try and create, on the fly, layers of images permeating Duran Duran on stage, a world of experimentation and hopefully some happy accidents,"

Duran Duran's guitarist Nick Rhodes also revealed to Billboard.com that he can't wait to work with the 'Mulholland Drive' film maker and icon:

"The stranger it is, the more beautiful it will be,"

"What appeals to us very much about working with David is that we like the way he thinks about things and how he's always gone out on a limb to make things different than anybody else."
