Kevin Spacey puts New York Dolls on

Academy award-winning actor Kevin Spacey has announced the New York Dolls will perform at the Old Vic Tunnels Club on March 30-31. 

The 'American Beauty' star is the artistic director of London's Old Vic Theatre and the Tunnels Club is its sister venue, so Spacey's decision to put the band on for two consecutive nights there is an exciting one. He said of the announcement:

"I'm excited that the Old Vic Tunnels are becoming a cool new scene for live performance,”

“The New York Dolls inspired the punk movement, so they are the perfect fit of glam and anarchy to launch our live music series under Waterloo Station. In addition, a new rock band called The Shoestrung will open both shows, who are also worth checking out.”

New York Dolls' new studio album, 'Dancing Backward In High Heels', is also released in the UK today, March 14. Watch the trailer for the band's bonus DVD that documents the making of the record here:
