Gaga's 'Born This Way' censored in Malaysia

Lady Gaga's latest single, 'Born This Way', may be breaking records across the globe but there's one country that's taking precautions to censor the song's modern approach to immortalising issues through lyrics.

Malaysia has allowed the track to be played on the radio, but has actively chosen to mangle the words "No matter gay, straight or bi, lesbian, transgendered life" into an inaudible series of sounds.

According to a statement issued by the country's largest private station, AMP Radio Networks, the lyrics have been censored because the issues Gaga sings about are still considered "taboo" there:

"The particular lyrics in 'Born This Way' may be considered as offensive when viewed against Malaysia's social and religious observances."

"The issue of being gay, lesbian or [bisexual] is still considered as a 'taboo' by general Malaysians"
