Liam Gallagher thinks Twitter's "rubbish"

Former Oasis star Liam Gallagher has hit out at the social networking site Twitter after branding it "rubbish".

Most stars in the music industry have embraced the micro-blogging service and use it regularly to give fans personal access into their thoughts and actions, but Gallagher claims to only bother with it if someone steps out of line.

Speaking to Absolute Radio, he explained:

"I only tweet when someone's got it majorly wrong, you know what I mean? That's the way I use it,"

"If someone's barking up the wrong tree I sort of point them in the right direction, but other than that I'm not into tweeting - it's rubbish."

One of the last tweets sent from his personal account, which is dated February 17, 2010, was aimed at comedian Peter Kay and reads:

"Listen up fat fuck as a real northerner I was brought up 2 say shit 2 people's faces not behind their back. Live forever LG"

His diss of the public service comes on the same day that Lady Gaga earned the title of the user with the most followers at over 9 million. Watch his band, Beady Eye, perform 'Kill For A Dream' live from the Royal Albert Hall here:
