Britney scores sixth no.1 album with 'Femme Fatale'

She may have only just released her new video for 'Till The World Ends', but Britney Spears is already paving the way with her brand new album 'Femme Fatale', Billboard.com reports.

The music giant has explained that Spears' seventh studio album has flown in "at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart", and that this position has earned her an impressive sixth number 1 record. Nielsen SoundScan also revealed that the 'Hold It Against Me' singer sold a huge 276,000 copies of 'Femme Fatale' in its first week of release.

This commendable feat puts her firmly in the ranks of the female recording artists with the most number 1 albums and ties her with both Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson, who have also scored 6 chart-topping albums apiece. They are only beaten by Madonna, who has enjoyed 7, and Barbara Streisand, with nine.
