Antony Hegarty becomes Wilderness Festival's 'artist in residence'

Wilderness Festival, which will be held between August 12-14 at Cornbury Park in Oxfordshire, has confirmed yet more exciting performances.

Antony Hegarty from Antony and the Johnsons will now be the festival's official 'artist in residence' and will perform with the Heritage Orchestra renowned for their work with Massive Attack and UNKLE.  He will also introduce a screening of Chiaki's Nagano's film, 'Mr O's Book of the Dead'.

Antony and the Johnsons will be releasing the 'Swanlights EP' next week on April 26 through Rough Trade and Secretly Canadian, a collection of songs which Antony describes as "the reflection of light on the surface of the water at night and the moment when a spirit jumps out of a body and turns into a violet ghost".

Also set to perform is the cult singer-songwriter Daniel Johnston, in what will be his only UK appearance, and this news comes at a great time because next year will see the release of a biopic film on the artist with actor Philip Seymour Hoffman portraying him.

Tickets for the festival are available to purchase now and you can watch Johnston's recent rendition of 'True Love Will Find You In The End' here:
