Josh Farro criticises Paramore's anti-Christian lyrics

Josh Farro, who famously walked away from Paramore with his brother Zac back in 2010, has cited the band's lyrics contradicting his faith as one of the reasons for deciding to quit.

In an interview with Common Revolt, the guitarist explained his disappointment in the content of Paramore's songs and admitted he's happier now that he's not associated with the mainstream rock outfit:

"Paramore claimed to be a christian band, and then wrote those lyrics. It contradicts your faith."

Speaking about the lyrics to one track in particular, 'Careful', which he claims were altered to "the truth never set me free, so I did it myself", Farro added:

"Hayley always said it was meant to be “your truth never set me free”, but you know. If it was meant to be that, then why was it changed? It’s kind of a sorry excuse. It bummed me out, and obviously one of many reasons me and Zac walked away. We couldn’t be happier where we are right now."

Despite the brothers' departure, Paramore continue to do incredibly well and you can watch them celebrate having 200k followers on their website with an acoustic performance here:
