Jamie Cullum set for festival satellite broadcast

Singer-songwriter Jamie Cullum will take part in a very special project later next month that will see him perform a live show in eight countries simultaneously.

The piano-playing star will take the stage at Cheltenham's Jazz festival on May 1 and his set will be broadcast via satellite to movie theatres across Europe, enabling fans across the continent to watch the show as it happens.

Speaking to The Sun, Cullum revealed his excitement about the forthcoming gig:

"I'm really excited about playing to audiences across the country with this simulcast gig. It'll give people a chance to experience some of the festival's vibe wherever they are, and hopefully encourage a few to come along next year to see more of the whole thing."
