Green Day and cast celebrate final 'American Idiot' performance

Broadway's American Idiot came to a close on Sunday night, April 24, and Green Day themselves, along with the full cast, gave the audience an unannounced post-performance treat.

After the final curtain, the 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams' stars walked onto the stage in their full line up and were joined by the cast and dancers for a surprise 10-song set to celebrate the show's end.

The iconic music magazine Rolling Stone reports the set list included Green Day's famous 'Burnout', 'Welcome To Paradise' and 'Murder City' along with reprised versions of 'Holiday' and 'Letterbomb' from the musical's original score.

Toward the end of the exciting performance, Bille Joe Armstrong announced:

"Ladies and gentlemen, this isn't a fucking party – this is a fucking celebration!"

He also added, sentimentally:

"I never thought I'd see my bedroom on a Broadway stage."
