Jamie Woon wants to keep it "low key"

Newcomer Jamie Woon, who shot into the UK albums chart last Sunday (April 24) at number 15, has told BBC's Newsbeat that his debut offering is quite simply "self-obsessed".

27-year-old singer-songwriter explained that his first record, 'Mirrorwriting', seems weird as he has "never released a record before":

"It's nice to get some feedback because I made it in my own little island. It's a good feeling."

"A lot of the song are about going for a walk. Night Air is about that time in night when things are really calm."

He came fourth in the BBC's Sound Of 2011 poll and is already making a significant name for himself in the UK, but admits he likes to keep a low profile:

"I guess I'm kind of low key although I aim to make music that people hear."
