Moby "perpetually baffled" by his music's popularity

Moby, who has enjoyed an incredibly successful career, told The Independent newspaper that he's "perpetually baffled" by how well he has done with his music.

His most recent venture, 'The Day', features a cameo from Hollywood actress Heather Graham and will feature on his forthcoming album 'Destroyed', but the 'Porcelain' icon always assumed that "music would become like a hobby":

"I'm perpetually baffled by the whole thing. I've made records everyone has hated and I've loved and made records that everyone has loved and I've deemed, at best, mediocre."

"I don't know how all this happened. I've honestly never had a clue what I'm doing."

He admitted that he was so certain that music would be a short-term or secondary part of his life that he picked out another career:

"I decided I would look for work in a bookshop and music would become like a hobby. Honestly, that's what I assumed would happen."
