Scouting For Girls to showcase new style

Since being nominated for an Ivor Novello award, British band Scouting For Girls are cracking the whip to get new material both recorded and released.

The 'She's So Lovely' singers have been nominated in the category of 'Most Performed Song' for 'This Ain't A Love Song' and want to use their current wave of publicity to unveil a new sound. Singer Roy Stride told The Daily Star:

"We’ve been really inspired since the Ivors nod and wanted to go for a more band-like sound, a more grown-up vibe. I couldn’t wait to record these songs and get them out there to everyone."

Looking back on the band's career, Stride added assertively:

"We’ve learned so much since then. With a first album you just write a load of songs that your mates like. Then you suddenly have to start thinking about writing stuff that moves your sound on while retaining the original spark.”

The Ivor Novello winners will be announced next week on Thursday, May 19 and Scouting For Girls will release a repackaged, new edition of their latest album 'Everybody Wants To Be On TV' on July 18. Watch their nominated video here:
