‘X Factor’ USA judge Paula Abdul has finally spoke on the reported departure of Cheryl Cole from the TV show.

Abdul and the Girls Aloud star were signed up to be judges on the panel of the new American version of the hit British show. However, reports are claiming that Cole has since been axed from the show. Although the news has yet to be confirmed, Abdul addressed the reports, saying that she will be sad to see the “lovely” Cheryl go.

"This is all news to me,” she said to reporters in Singapore during a promotional trip. “This apparently has captured the news while I was travelling so I'm just finding out things as you are. I don't know whether this is true. You probably know more than I do.

"All I can tell you is that she is lovely, and I was really excited about the relationship and friendship we were forging. Regardless [of what happens], I'm looking forward to continuing that. She's lovely."
